The holiday accommodation is set in a beautiful coastal location in the South Mainland of Shetland with stunning views over the hamlets and bays of Fladdabister and Ocraquoy, the island of Bressay, the Bressay lighthouse, Breiwick Bay and the North Sea.
Brekka Lodge is located 10 minutes from Lerwick and 16 miles from Sumburgh Airport. The house is split over two floors and is suitable for sleeping up to 4 adults plus 2 children and an infant in a cot. All bedding and towels are provided and prices include all bills, bedding and a welcome pack.
With a large garden, beach and hill walks on your doorstep, Brekka Lodge is a hit with families as well as couples wishing to enjoy the peace and quiet whilst being idelly situated to explore Shetland.
Brekka Lodge's central location is perfect for seeing what Shetland has to offer in terms of bird life, wildlife, sea mammals, archaeology, walking, spectacular sea cliffs, scenic views, wild flowers, arts and crafts or for simply exploring Shetland. It is also a splendid place to see the Aurora Borealis in the Winter time due to its location and lack of light pollution.

From Lerwick by Car
Brekka Lodge is approximately 10 miles south of Lerwick. Take the A970 south for approximately 9 miles, pass the villages of Gulberwick and Quarff. After exiting Quarff you will travel past the Fladdabister Loch on your left, at the end of this straight take the junction on your left marked Fladdabister. Travel along the single track road, past the windmill on your left, down the hill, through the hamlet of old crofters cottages, cross a small bridge and Brekka Lodge is the first wooden property on your left, before reaching the passing place, and opposite the house called Greenville. Ample parking is available to the left of the drive outside Brekka Lodge. The journery from Lerwick to Brekka Lodge will be approximately 15 minutes.
From Sumburgh Airport by Car
Take the A970 north, for approximately 16 miles. Travel through Cunningsburgh, passing the community hall and football pitch on the left, take the next junction on your right marked Fladdabister/Aithsetter, turn immediately left to Fladdabister/Ocraquoy. Travel along this road, pass two wooden houses on your right, bear right, take a sharp left, down a small hill, pass a junction to Ocraquoy on your right, and pass two groups of small houses on your left. Brekka Lodge is the wooden property that stands on its own near the sea on your right and opposite a house called Greenville. Ample parking is available to the left of the drive outside Breka Lodge. The journey from Sumburgh Airport to Brekka Lodge will be approximately 30 minutes.
Public Transport
There is a local bus service which connects Lerwick with the Sumburgh Airport and vice versa (Bus Number 6). There are two bus stops serving Brekka Lodge, both approximately 0.5m away. If arriving by bus please let us know your approximate time of arrival and we can collect you from the bus stop. Each bus stop is located where the main road A970 inter connects with the loop road for Fladdabister.
