The Decca Apartments

The Decca Apartments are within The Decca two storey accommodation building. The three one bedroom apartments ‘Tystie’, ‘Tammie Norie’ and ‘Tirrick’, are on the 1st floor of The Decca, and have just been completed in April 2010, finalising the renovation of the old Radio Navigational Signal Station. Steve (one of the owners of the properties) designed and built the apartments himself, utilising the coombed ceilings and the whole of the 1st floor area.

Tystie, Tammie Norie and Tirrick each have their own doors, opening into an open plan living area, cleverly integrating a fully equipped quality kitchen, living and dining area. There is a shower room and double bedroom (twin bedroom for Tammie Norie) off from the living area. The apartments have been finished in Ash, and the main areas floored with Karndean Flooring, while the bedrooms have luxurious thick carpeting.

The Decca has an ideal location - close to the amenities of town, yet set in a Shetland hillside setting. Only a short five minute walk to a bus stop/drive to town centre. Tystie, Tammie Norie and Tirrick offer the following facilities:

• Kitchen: fully equipped with microwave, ceramic cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/drier, ample crockery and cutlery, large variety of cooking and baking equipment and a dining table with 2 chairs.
• Sitting Room: with a 2 seater leather couch (Tammie Norie – 2 leather reclining chairs with footstools), LCD television with DVD/freeview, iPod docking station with CD/radio and a variety of Shetland books, other books, games and DVDs.
• Bathroom: with a shower, toilet, wash hand basin, heated towel rail and wet wall paneling.
• Bedroom: Double divan bed (Tammie Norie – twin divan beds), qualtiy 100% cotton bedding draped with 100% Shetland woollen blankets for colder nights, hair drier, full length mirror, bespoke ash wardrobe and drawers, clothes airer, pegs and basket.

Heating is by storage heaters and electric panel heaters. All bed linen, towels and dish-towels are provided. In stock for your arrival are a toilet roll and a kitchen roll, Shetland Soap Company hand soap & shower gel, dish washing liquid, salt and pepper, tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Ironing facilities and vacuum cleaner are also available.
